Intermediate Level 2 - Kitchen Small Appliance Covers, Tea Cozy and Pot Holders - CHOICE OF TWO DIFFERENT PATTERNS

This class will teach you intermediate sewing techniques. These patterns (see below) help the student learn how to apply bias tape and work with quilted fabric.

Beginning Sewing:
1. Laying out fabric
2. Layout pattern pieces
3. Pin and cut out fabric
4. Simple seams
5. Apply bias tape

Age range: 7- teens
Cost: $25/student/session
Class size: 4-6 persons
Duration: 3 hours

Materials to bring:

  1. Sewing machine
  2. Simplicity Pattern (see below)
  3. Thread to match fabric
  4. Quilted fabric of your choice (according to pattern instructions) plus bias tape and/or ribbon according to pattern instructions and which item you choose to make (ribbon is for tea cozy).
  5. Seam ripper
  6. Pin cushion
  7. Straight pins
  8. Scissors
  9. Seam gauge
  10. (Or basic sewing kit available at Jo-Ann's or Wal-Mart)
  11. Fabric available for purchase from teacher.
