Beginning Level 1 - Tote Bag

This class will teach you the basics of sewing technique. This particular pattern (see below) introduces fuseable interfacing and applying decorative trim and appliques.

Beginning Sewing:

1. Laying out fabric

2. Layout pattern pieces

3. Pin and cut out fabric
4. Marking fabric for handle placement

5. Simple seams

Age range: 7- teen

Cost: $25/student/session

Class size: 4-6 persons

1. Sewing machine

2. Simplicity Pattern (see below)

3. Thread to match fabric

4. Fabric of your choice (according to pattern instructions)

5. Seam ripper.

6. Pin cushion.

7. Straight pins.

8. Scissors

9. Seam gauge

10. (Or basic sewing kit available at Jo-Ann's or Wal-Mart)

11. Fabric available for purchase from teacher.
