Beginning Level 2 - Vest

This class will teach you additional basics of basic sewing techniques. This particular pattern (see below) introduces the student in how to make a lining for the vest.

Beginning Sewing:

1. Laying out fabric

2. Layout pattern pieces

3. Pin and cut out fabric
4. Simple seams

5. Sew lining to outer fabric
6. Stitch a trim

Age range: 7-12

Cost: $25/student/session

Materials to bring:

1. Sewing machine

2. Simplicity Pattern (see below)

3. Thread to match fabric

4. Fabric of your choice (according to pattern instructions) (can be contrasting for lining)

5. Seam ripper

6. Pin cushion

7. Straight pins

8. Scissors

9. Seam gauge

10. (Or basic sewing kit available at Jo-Ann's or Wal-Mart)

11. Fabric available for purchase from teacher.
