Beginning Level 2 - Lounge Wear

This class will teach you additional sewing techniques. This particular pattern (see below) introduces the student in how to install a raglan sleeve.

Beginning Sewing:

1. Laying out fabric

2. Layout pattern pieces

3. Pin and cut out fabric
4. Marking fabric to match up various pieces.
5. Simple seams

6. Make casing for elastic
7. Install a raglan sleeve
8. Hemming

Age range: 7-12

Materials to bring:

1. Sewing machine

2. Simplicity Pattern (see below)

3. Thread to match fabric

4. Fabric of your choice (according to pattern instructions) (elastic for casing according to pattern)

5. Seam ripper

6. Pin cushion

7. Straight pins and medium safety pins

8. Scissors

9. Seam gauge

10. (Or basic sewing kit available at Jo-Ann's or Wal-Mart)

11. Fabric available for purchase from teacher.
